Coscoroba Swan
Coscoroba coscoroba
A Coscoroba Swan -- look at those feet!
This small swan is considered by some researchers to have some relationship to the geese. It is native to the southern half of South America, overlapping in range only with the Black-necked Swan.
It is named after its call, a trumpetlike "cos-cor-oo."
It feeds both by up-ending for submerged vegetation and by grazing along the waterside.
